Will and Russ

Happy Monday!

Will and Russ are two precious little guys. They were born on Valentine's Day—how fun (and easy to remember)! They were my first set of twins to photograph and i loved it! i'm so looking forward to all the photo possibilities. Their mom is a sorority sister from college and it's going to be great to watch them grow up this year.

Reese: Newborn Children's Photography, Birmingham, Alabama

Happy Monday!

Reese is the beautiful daughter of my friends Ashley and Trevor. Reese was only a few weeks old in these photos—isn't she so sweet!?

They had moved into their new house 6 days before Reese was born. I would have been an absolute mess! But Ashley and Trevor were both as calm and relaxed as they could be, like moving and having a baby were just the most normal and easiest things ever. I need to take lessons from them!

Lily: Newborn Children's Photography, Birmingham, Alabama

Lily is the BEAUTIFUL 8-week-old daughter of Chad and Sarah, my old college roommate. Doing Lily's newborn session was so fun (and calm!). I think that's because Chad and Sarah are so good with Lily!

Because it is Thursday, I asked Sarah to come up with the top ten advice tips she would give new parents. See below for her answers, as well as Lily's slideshow and my favorite photos from the session. Happy Thursday!

Top Ten Advice Tips for New Parents:

1. Hold your baby and love on your baby as much as you want.

2. If sleeping with your baby is the only way to get sleep, do it!

3. Don't feel like a criminal if you have to put your baby on her stomach to get sleep. This may go against all medical advice—but at least I waited until she could move her head from side to side!

4. Your baby can still get good sleep if you don't follow the rules of Babywise :)

5. Rock your baby and read and sing to her even if she doesn't know what you are saying.

6. Get a sling and wear your baby. You can get some chores or shopping done and she won't be crying the whole time.

7. It's ok to cry when your baby grows out of her first outfit.

8. Get some waterproof changing pad liners or else you will be washing the changing pad all the time. Buy your diapers at diapers.com.

9. Listen to Taylor Swift's song "Never Grow Up" now that you are a parent. It will bring tears to your eyes.

10. BE PREPARED FOR THE UNEXPECTED....your baby may come 4 weeks early too!!!

evie at three months

This weekend i had the opportunity to photograph beautiful Evie. She is three months old and she has such a sweet personality! Even Gus (the dog) got a chance to join in the family photos. I'm sure he has been thinking these past three months, "Where did this little person come from and how soon can she leave??" Here are a few of my favorites. Enjoy!

Two weekends ago, i had the opportunity to photograph owen, a beautiful 7-week-old. He is absolutely precious and was totally fine with the camera in his face, which made for some great photos!
