Happy Valentine's Day

My grandparents (Meme and Pop to me) have been married for 63 years. Can you believe it? That is such an amazing blessing! Meme wrote a letter describing her first impression of Pop. Here is a portion of it:

"I first met Jack on Saturday night, March 29, 1947. He had come home with Charles (Meme's cousin) for the weekend. They came up and played records until they had to leave to go have Charles' watch repaired. On Sunday, we all went to Sunday School and church. After dinner, Charles and Jack came by for a few minutes before leaving for Mobile. I must say I was quite impressed."

So begins the love story that still continues to this day. Here are some photos from the early years.
Recently, I found a list that I had made them when I was in high school. It's called "The Top 50 Reasons Why I Have Such Wonderful Grandparents." Here are a few of those reasons.

Meme:
• Telling me there is always a reason for everything
• Making coffee (i love the smell!)
• Having gospel music or sermons playing in your house and car
• Fixing the most amazing chocolate pie ever

Pop:
• Being able to fix almost everything
• Going golfing and letting me and Paige (my sister) drive
• Keeping the grass cut so Paige and I could do cartwheels
• Feeding the raccoons (long story!)
