Top Ten Thursday (on Saturday): Jenn and Josh Visit Birmingham!

Jenn is a dear friend who I used to work with at Health magazine. She lived here for three years before we lost her to the Big Apple in 2007. Oh how I have missed her! But it's also really fun to go to NYC to visit!

Last weekend, she and her boyfriend, Josh, came back to the Magic City for a visit. We had so much fun showing Josh around and having lunch with friends we used to work with. Of course, a trip isn't complete without making them pose for a few photos! Here are some of my favorites.



I asked her to do a "top ten" on the things she missed most about Birmingham:
10. My two favorite Chez: LuLu and FonFon
9. Spring almost always starts in February (take THAT Punxsutawney Phil!)
8. Driving. Walking everywhere is good...but sometimes, driving is better.
7. On that note: Parking spots!
6. The medical care: the best doctors I've ever had, hands down!
5. The accent: "Bless her heart" and other Southern phrases
4. My friends from Health. It was nice to work with people that I'm still excited to see four years after I've moved from Birmingham.
3. I love a good junk store. The real kind, not the specially curated kind that's made to look real but really costs a fortune.
2. Low Rent + Bigger Apartment = Awesome
1. Laine and Claire: Their cottage and their wonderful world of mysterious Southern foods (Hobo Sandwiches anyone?)
